The Intelligence Bureau (IB) Security Assistant/Executive examination is a competitive process designed to assess candidates’ aptitude and skills for roles within the organization. As of July 2026, the official syllabus for the 2026 examination has not been released. However, based on previous years’ patterns, candidates can prepare effectively by understanding the established structure and content of the exam.

IB Security Assistant syllabus 2026 Exam Pattern Overview

The selection process typically comprises three tiers:

  1. Tier I – Objective Test (Computer-Based Test)
  2. Tier II – Descriptive Test
  3. Tier III – Interview/Personality Test

IB Security Assistant 2026 Exam Pattern

To score well in the IB Security Assistant exam, candidates must have an idea of the exam pattern for exam. The exam consists of a total of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions for a total of 100 marks. The exam will be held for a total of 60 minutes, and there is negative marking; a 1/4 mark will be deducted for the wrong answer.

The Tier-II exam is qualifying in nature. The qualifying marks in Tier-2 is 20 out of 50.
