  1. Nationality
  • A candidate must be a citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Vietnam, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Surinam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  1. Educational Qualification
  • Minimum Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
  • For DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ in Ministry of Defence, and other departments: Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent with Science stream and Mathematics as subjects from a recognized Board or University.
  • Essential Qualification Date: Candidates must possess the required educational qualification on or before the specified cut-off date mentioned in the official notification.
  1. Age Limit
  • General Age Band: 18 to 27 years as of the cut-off date (typically July 1st of the exam year; check notification for exact dates).
  • Permissible Age Relaxation (as per Government of India rules; subject to documentary proof):
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
    • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD): 10 years (UR), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)
    • Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 years after deduction of military service from actual age up to the age of 50 years.
