Educational Qualification

  • Master’s Degree: A Master’s Degree in the concerned subject from a recognized university or institution with at least 50% marks in aggregate (or an equivalent grade). For certain specialized subjects, specific degree requirements may apply.
  • Degree/Diploma in Education: A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or its equivalent from a recognized university/institution.
  • Desirable Qualification: Three years of teaching experience in a college, higher secondary school, or high school in the concerned subject is considered desirable and can strengthen an application.

Age Limit

  • General Category: The maximum age limit for the DSSSB PGT post is typically 30 years. However, specific notifications might indicate a slightly different range, such as 21 to 36 years or up to 30 years as of a specified cut-off date.
  • Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, etc.) as per the rules and regulations of the Government of India. For example, SC/ST candidates may get up to 5 years of relaxation, OBC up to 3 years, and PwBD candidates can receive additional relaxation. Departmental candidates with 3+ years of continuous service may also be eligible for age relaxation.
