The recruitment of more than 2600 posts in the Education Department is pending for the last three years. On November 15, 2021, the government had ordered NIOS to include DLED candidates in this recruitment, which was later cancelled. Angered by this, the candidates had moved the High Court against this decision of the government.
After coming, the matter has reached the Supreme Court. On June 30, 2023, Education Secretary Ravinath Raman had instructed the Director of Education to submit an application to the Supreme Court for early hearing of the matter. In the order given by the government, it was said that due to non-availability of teachers in the schools, it is adversely affecting the future of the students.
