UPSRTC is public sector passenger road transport corporation of Uttar Pradesh. Bus service was started on 15 August 1947 (Independence Day) by Uttar Pradesh Government Roadways. In the year 1972 Uttar Pradesh Government Roadways was renamed to Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation UP Roadways under the Road Transport Act, 1950. UPSRTC currently has approximately 45,000 employee and 9600 buses of Ashok Leyland, TATA, and Volvo.
UPSRTC has its headquarter situated in Lucknow, Which 20 Regions and 107 Depots.
