EWS-11, UR-36) (PwBD-01)*. *Of the eighty vacancies, one vacancy is reserved and suitable
for candidates belonging to category of Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) viz.
Locomotor Disability including Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack
Victims and Muscular Dystrophy with disability i.e. One leg affected (R or L) (OL) or One
arm affected (R or L) (OA) or Leprosy Cured (LC) or Dwarfism (DW) or Acid Attack
Victims (AAV). The post is permanent. General Central Service Group- “A” Gazetted, NonMinisterial. Pay Scale: Level- 10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. Age: 35 years. ESSENTIAL
QUALIFICATIONS: (A) EDUCATIONAL: (i) Bachelor degree in Physics or Mathematics or
Aircraft Maintenance or Engineering Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical or Electrical or
Electronics or Telecommunication from a recognized University. (ii) Valid Aircraft Maintenance
Engineer’s (AME) License endorsed in either of the Categories B1 or B2 issued by Directorate
General of Civil Aviation. Note: Person holding Engineering Degree in Aeronautical
may be considered without possessing a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s
(AME) License. (B) EXPERIENCE: Three years of Aircraft Maintenance experience on an
operating aircraft in an Aircraft Maintenance Organization approved by Directorate General of
Civil Aviation. DESIRABLE: Work experience in a continuing Airworthiness Management
Organization or Aircraft Maintenance Organization. NOTE-I: The Qualifications are relaxable at
the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in
the case of candidates otherwise well qualified. NOTE-II: The qualification(s) regarding
experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for
reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes
or the Scheduled Tribes, if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission is of
the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the
requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
DUTIES: Reviewing applications for certificates of registration, permit to fly, licensing, records of
aircraft, service bulletins & airworthiness directives. Inspection of aircraft maintenance, Flight
crew licensing examination. Investigation of major defects in aircraft, violations of the national
air law & regulations Surveillance of the carriage of dangerous goods, shippers, approved
organization for issue & renewal of certificates; Framing & amendment of regulatory
requirements. HQ: Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Opposite Safdurjung Airport,
Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi with liability to serve anywhere in India. Place of Posting: DGCA,
HQ, New Delhi, Regional Offices viz Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur, Patiala, Kolkata, Patna,
Guwahati, Bhubhanewshwar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Mumbai, Bhopal etc. Any
Other Condition: The newly inducted officers shall be provided an induction training for a
period of minimum two weeks to enable officers to get a general understanding about the
organization, its vision and mission and acquire necessary competency required for performing
their job. After completion of initial induction training, the newly inducted officers will be provided
on the job training to enable them to handle their responsibility independently.
Education:
Applicants must have a 12th pass, degree or diploma in relevant field from recognized university.
